  2. Is there really good views?

  3. How steep are the roads?

This is a very important question when you're looking at mountain property. You need to be able to access your property year round. We have gently sloping roads throughout the farm and have taken extra measures to ensure this.

  4. What is the quality of the roads at Slatyfork Farm?

Another great question. Our quality gravel roads will last for many years and require minimum upkeep. We have proper drainage, compaction, grading and graveling. We have roads from the original development section that are still in great shape fifteen years later with normal upkeep. You can safely access your property year round with some proper snow removal during our wonderful snow season.

  5. Are the roads kept clean during the snow season?

Yes. Our Home Owner's Association works well at keeping our roads cleared during even some of the largest snow falls our farm is blessed to receive.

  6. Will we get snowed in at Slatyfork Farm?

Only if you want to be. With quality roads and an active Home Owner's Association to clear roads, access is not a problem. We have a great amount of natural snow in the winter season which allows for some of the best snowsports in the Eastern United States. For this exact reason, our highways are kept cleared and as safe as possible by state road crews to ensure passage to our major local ski resort, which is within minutes to our farm. We take our snow seriously and work to ensure access to our homesites so that all can enjoy the benefits of our beautiful white winters.

Slatyfork Farm features two mountain sides, a great wooded forest area and an incredible green valley centerpiece. This is not steep unusable mountain property. Most of the property is easy to walk on and there are plenty of flat areas. There is very little unusable land on the entire farm.

At the front of the farm, along Highway 219, is a commercial area. It has a new beautiful 3500 Sq. Ft. stone and wood building to house retail and office space. We also have a 20 (+/-) acre green valley centerpiece. It has two ponds, a fenced in pasture and is currently the site of an old Scottish-style primitive golf course. We even have an old abandoned CSX railroad line now owned by the West Virginia Trail Authority that runs through our farm. It provides for a good hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing trail.
